Begin the Prayer JourneyWhy These Prayers Were Written
Â
Praying Psalms for America was written during a season marked by uncertainty, division, and deep concern for the future of our nation.
As headlines intensified and emotions rose, I felt continually drawn back to the Psalms—where honesty, lament, wisdom, repentance, hope, and unwavering trust in God have guided believers for generations.
These prayers were born from that place.
Rather than responding with fear or frustration, this collection was created to help believers turn toward God in prayer—anchoring their hearts in Scripture and interceding for America with humility, discernment, grace, and hope.
Though written during a particular moment in history, the themes woven throughout these prayers remain timeless: faith in uncertainty, unity in division, peace in turmoil, and confidence in God’s enduring presence.
These prayers are not rooted in political allegiance, but in the biblical call to seek truth, pursue righteousness, pray for those in authority, and place our hope in God above all earthly powers.
The Psalms remind us that God is sovereign over nations and leaders, and that even in troubled times, we are never without His wisdom, justice, mercy, presence, or peace.
Why the Psalms?
Â
For generations, believers have turned to the Psalms as a guide for prayer, worship, lament, repentance, hope, and trust in God.
The Psalms give language to every season of the soul and remind us that we are never alone in our cries, questions, gratitude, or longing for God’s presence.
As Pastor James Miller writes in the foreword to Volume 2:
“Most Christians have learned to pray by praying the Psalms.”
These prayers were created to help believers engage Scripture personally and prayerfully—allowing the Psalms to guide our prayers for America with wisdom, humility, discernment, and hope.
Experience the Psalms
Â
The Psalms were written to be lived in the heart, spoken in prayer, sung in worship, and carried into everyday life.
They reflect life lived in deep relationship with God—bringing every fear, sorrow, joy, hope, and longing before Him, and entrusting it all to His mercy and grace.
These Scripture-inspired readings and prayers invite you to slow down, reflect, and enter into a deeper rhythm of prayer and trust in God.
